Author Hal Sharpe will speak about his recent book, Shenandoah Valley in the Civil War: Four Dark Years.

Hal, for the past 15 years, has been conducting research on the people, places and events surrounding the War Between the States.  This research is what brought him, and his wife Joan, to live in Edinburg. This book is part of a larger project dealing with the entire Shenandoah Valley and surrounding areas.  It deals with the political, social and economic background of the war in Shenandoah County and the effects of the war in the people of the county.

The program takes place at the St. Paul's Heritage Center at 106 S. High Street in Edinburg VA.  Ample parking is available across the street in the Shentel parking lot.
