Religion has played a large part in the history of Shenandoah County and we believe it is not only of interest to people who live here, but is also valuable to those doing genealogical research.

With that in mind, the SCHS has compiled a listing of 142 known churches in the County.  This is a work in progress and information is still being collected about the individual churches.

This is intended to be a historical record of the churches and will not list times of services, pastor's names and upcoming events.

As you navigate through the listing, we hope members of those churches which have no historical information included, will contact us and supply us with the necessary data to make the Church history complete.
